An idea of the itinerary...

All is subject to be modified during the travel. It's impossible to plan exactly the way you gone take in 3 month, after riding 6000 km...

So just to have an idea, I invite you to have a look on the map. I called this map "El Sur" (= South in Spanish)

View El Sur in a larger map

Starting from Whitehorse, Yukon.
Going by Vancouver, B.C,
Victoria, B.C.
Aberdeen, WA.
(May be Portland, Or.)
San Francisco, CA.
Los Angeles, CA.
(I'm not sure if it's better to go by the peninsula of South California and after to take a ferry, or if it's better to go by Arizona).
I was looking for this ferry from La Paz to Topolobampo, but it's very expensive... like 850$ ! So.. Still looking an other solution, may be hitchhiking boats.
So for the next cities I have no ideas. But I'll probably cross those countries :
Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia and finally Ecuador.

This project of itinerary is approximatively 13.000km.

An old dream becoming reality

Since I'm 16 years old, a lot of good pictures from South-America appears to me, as an invitation to go head to this cape.

This aspirations became a project that I never gave up. It became an objective and a dream : to reach the country of Ecuador by any way but not by plane. I don't mind about taking plane, but I don't want to fly over many curiosities that I could discover going by earth way, as riding my bike.

So since I'm living in Vancouver, BC, I saw the opportunity to reach Ecuador by bike, following the West Coast of U.S.A, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, Ecuador.

In order to add a kind of warming up, I'm going to start from Whitehorse, Yukon, after spending the month of August by woofing in a Canadian family.

So I plan to start around first September, and let's see how long it's gone take, may be 10 months ?

Here are 4 pictures of my first travel by bike, in Lapland, 2010. With a friend from Helsinki, we started in Kolari, Finland going by Kilpisjarvi, we went until Tromso, Norway.
And at the bottom, the map with the itinerary we followed.
